Albemarle Regional Health Services (ARHS) issued its current regional COVID-19 update on Friday, Sept. 3. The updates are released on Friday each week, showing the updated information on vaccines, active cases and facility outbreaks. The report includes Bertie County. According to the report, there have been 2,106 lab confirmed cases of COVID-19 for the county, with 1,959 of those cases considered re covered. There were 100 active CO VID-19 cases reported. Sadly, there have been 47 deaths. As of press time, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) COVID-19 Dash board for Tuesday, Sept. 7 shows the current overall case count for the county at 2,147 cases. That is an in crease of 41 cases since the Sept. 3 report. Jeri Pierce, Hertford County, Financial Services Manager at the State Em ployees Credit Union, was re-appointed by the Hert ford County Commission ers to serve until 2025.
